DK app is a mobile application developed by Digital Kidu. DK is licensed in Bhutan under service licence number 1044379 and has registered office at building number 43, Norzin Lam, P.O.Box 1714, Thim Throm, Thimphu.

Eligibility requirements of opening of individual account

  1. Bhutanese citizen with a valid CID;
  2. 18 years and above; and
  3. Active mobile number.


Account holder responsibilities

  1. Provide timely and accurate information to DK;
  2. Provide additional information and documents when asked;
  3. Update nominee(s) within 5 working days after the opening of the account by calling DK at toll free number 8888 or mail at help@dk.bt;
  4. Keep your MPIN / OTP of the services secure and confidential; and
  5. Notify DK immediately about any suspicious transactions / activities on your account(s) via email or toll free number.


DK’s Rights, Liability and Indemnity

  1. The decision of DK on all matters relating to your account and the matters set out in these Terms and Conditions shall be final and binding
  2. DK has the right to disable or freeze any account or transaction for any reason including breaching of system security or upon receiving factual information from the Royal Bhutan Police and Courts.
  3. DK shall not be liable for your transactions that have been confirmed by using the DK Digital Lock. You understand and agree that the DK Digital Lock is for the purpose of authenticating the transaction and shall have the same effect as your specimen signature/authorized signatory.
  4. You agree to discharge DK and its employees from all the liabilities as well as fully indemnify against any loss(es), damage(s), claim(s), expense(s) (including legal cost) or other consequence(s), suffered or incurred by you or any other person as a result of:
    1. DK acting in good faith as per your instructions;
    2. Cancellation of all or any of the Account(s) and/or Service(s);
    3. Any system(s) or operation failure(s), acts of nature or any other causes beyond DK’s reasonable control;
    4. Any delay(s) in connection with any security process performed by DK for fraud detection, anti-money laundering or sanctions or to comply with any law or regulations;
    5. Any transaction(s) or leakage(s) effected as a result of fraudulent conduct because of your action, omission, negligence, or willful default by you or third parties; and
    6. Any breach(es) / non-adherence(s) to the Terms and Conditions / any applicable laws by you.


General Terms and Conditions

  1. DK reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions with or without your consent.
  2. In case of any dispute arising between the parties (DK and you) in connection with the validity, interpretation or implementation of these Terms and Conditions, the matter shall be resolved mutually to the extent possible. If a mutual resolution is not possible, the matter shall be referred to the Royal Court of Justice, Bhutan.

Business account can be opened by license owner:

  1. Valid licence for Sole proprietor, Government Bodies, Trust and Association, National and International NGOs, Partnership firms, private and public limited company; and
  2. Active mobile number.

PURPOSE

To provide a loan for the purchase of a laptop.



Eligibility requirements of opening of individual account

  1. Bhutanese citizen, 18 years and above having a valid citizen identification card and mobile number; and
  2. Secured admission in colleges registered under Royal University of Bhutan (RUB), provided he /she is not a final year student.


SCHEME DETAIL

  1. LOAN AMOUNT: As approved by DK
  2. INTEREST RATE: 0%
  3. SECURITY: No collateral required.
  4. PROCESSING FEE: Nu. 0/-
  5. 3.5 REPAYMENT PERIOD: 24 months, with repayment starting 2 years after graduation.


STUDENT’S (BORROWER) LIABILITY

  1. Provide timely and accurate information to DK;
  2. Provide additional information and documents when asked;
  3. Inform DK and RUB if he/she is unable to complete his/her course within the original duration;
  4. Fully responsible for any maintenance, damage or loss of the laptop;
  5. Full repayment of the loan instalments throughout the loan period unless he/she decides to pay off the entire loan in one payment; and
  6. Fully comply with the Terms and Conditions and any applicable laws.


DK’S RIGHTS, LIABILITY & INDEMNITY

  1. The decision of DK on all matters relating to Laptop loan shall be final and binding;
  2. After approving the loan, DK shall pay directly to the vendor (decided by DK) on behalf of the Student for the purchase of the Laptop;
  3. DK will not be liable for the warranty of the laptop. The vendor will be solely liable for warranty and any other laptop servicing matters; and
  4. DK has the right to prevent Student from taking another DK loan without notice or reason.

 



GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITION

  1. The matters set out in these Terms and Conditions shall be final and binding for the Student.
  2. DK reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions with or without the consent of the Student.
  3. CONSENT CLAUSE

  1. The Student hereby consent DK to disclose from time to time any information relating to the loan with the Credit Information Bureau (CIB) or other entities as required by the Law; and
  2. The Student also authorized DK to make inquiries with CIB and get the applicants Credit Information Report.
